Evan grew up playing youth hockey in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Utah. From there he began his Junior A career playing for the Bozeman Icedogs (Tier II) and finished with the Des Moines Buccaneers (Tier 1) in the USHL. Evan graduated after four years with the Catamounts with a B.S. in Community Development and Applied Economics with an emphasis on Community Entrepreneurship.
He was fortunate enough to have a 13 year professional career, playing over 650 games all over the world (North America, Europe, and Asia). While playing in the UK, he attended Graduate School at Abertay University. There he achieved his Master's Degree with Merit in International Human Resource Management. Along with wearing a C or A for many of the teams he played for, he also served as his teams Professional Hockey Players Association team representative.
